What kind of video games do you play? Do you spend a lot of time playing video games?
Shooters, for a long time now all the time I dedicate to video games is to the ones we create in Friendly Fire Studios.
What was your first encounter with video games? Was it the video game that made you fall in love with them?
Counter Strike and Lineage II, the latter made me fall in love with video games.
How much experience do you have in the video game industry? What was the biggest challenge you have faced?
23 years in the industry is a long time, but perhaps the biggest challenge is to create a studio from scratch and rely on ourselves.
Who is your favorite video game character? Do you think you are related to him/her?
The Zeprex and yes, physically I think we look alike in hairstyle (they don’t have hair, like me).
Imagine you could mix two video games into one, and the end result would be good. Which ones would you mix?
Counter Strike, Lineage II and A Long Survive, the result would be epic.
What is it like to work at Friendly Fire Studios? Tell us some interesting anecdotes.
Friendly Fire Studios is a lifestyle, here we develop an exciting daily activity developing videogames with enthusiasm and care to have fun and see how people have fun with our creations. I don’t know if this can be called work, but it’s what we do.
An example of what we do, we had it in the winter edition of DreamHack Valencia. The whole Friendly Fire Studios team was presenting our core of VR video games with free movement, with a stand of more than 500 square meters. More than a thousand people were in our virtual spaceship shooting or solving puzzles in our escape room in VR. It was days of fun, VR games and lots of pizza, that’s the essence of Friendly Fire Studios.
About A long Survive
Tell about a recent development challenge you have encountered and how you solved it.
The biggest challenge in my case was the name of the game (A Long Survive), fortunately we have a good team and a great imagination.
Do you have any interesting details about the development process that you can share?
Best of all is being able to shoot everything that moves in VR and see how a team member runs in terror when he sees a Zeprex (one of the enemies in A Long Survive) chasing him.
Which mechanics of A Long Survive do you find most fun or innovative?
The building system is one of the ones I like the most, that combined with the combat, make A Long Survive impressive.
As a player, what do you think would be your role or focus when playing A Long Survive? What do you think would be the role of the rest of the team?
In my case it would be a role similar to that of a tank, the typical player who prefers to hold a position and let the rest of the team attack from the flanks so that victory is assured. Strategy is a very important point in A Long Survive.
