What kind of video games do you play? Do you spend a lot of time playing video games?

As a developer I play all kinds of games, but it is true that I almost always end up playing fast-paced games such as League of Legends or Rocket League.

What was your first encounter with video games? Was it the video game that made you fall in love with them?

Link Adventures of Nes, that was my first video game that I played and from which I started to fall in love with everything related to video games. If there is a saga that fell in love, it was Suikoden, its second part for me one of the best video games that I have played.

How much experience do you have in the video game industry? What was the biggest challenge you have faced?

In 2014 I started a small indie project with some friends (including Carlos) and we started working with Unreal in addition to a multitude of programs. Being few, we had to divide tasks and we did everything from programming to modeling and animating. The biggest challenge I’ve had is always starting something from scratch, it’s never easy, and in the end you have to risk a lot to get ahead, but it’s a beautiful experience.

Who is your favorite video game character? Do you think you are related to him/her?

My favorite character is Geralt of Rivia. His way of being is somewhat similar to me, sometimes he’s lonely, sometimes he’s social, funny and a bit of a badass.

Imagine you could mix two video games into one, and the end result would be good. Which ones would you mix?

The Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy VII

If you had to decide on a video game world to live in, what would it be?

Final Fantasy World, of course.

What is it like to work at Friendly Fire Studios? Tell us some interesting anecdotes.

It is an honor to be part of Friendly Fire Studios, I think that although it is not an easy path, being accompanied by so many awesome people (both professionally and personally) is something that makes you wake up every day in a totally different way. The anecdote was the Dreamhack of Valencia, it was when we met the whole team and where I enjoyed the most with everyone.

About A long Survive

Tell about a recent development challenge you have encountered and how you solved it.

The development of A Long Survive is a complex process, there are always things to improve and ideas to implement. We want to make the perfect game, but we know that perfection as such does not exist and we can not please everyone, but we want to do everything possible to make our game to please the vast majority. The most complex process will always be that, to adapt everything to a fun and little frustrating mechanics and it is something we work on every day.

Do you have any interesting details about the development process that you can share?

The most interesting detail is that not only by being good you can survive, you always have to have strategy and be smart when it comes to building structures and spending your money, that’s the key to A Long Survive.

Which mechanics of A Long Survive do you find most fun or innovative?

Without a doubt the construction of defensive elements and the different options that the enemies have, I think it makes the balance perfect and the games are fun and exciting.

As a player, what do you think would be your role or focus when playing A Long Survive? What do you think would be the role of the rest of the team?

Normally I am usually the one who repairs things, in this case, I would probably be in charge of organizing the team and making sure that all the buildings are undamaged and that we have enough credits to continue increasing our fortification.
